SOCIAL STYLE Tip of the Day

What Amiable Behaviors Would Colleagues Change?

When we consider the types of behaviors that people should do less of at work, most of those behaviors center around a person’s Style-related Backup Behavior. Amiable Style people have a tendency to acquiesce to others and not share their opinions. So with these individuals, doing less really means doing more. While having friendly relations with co-workers is an admirable goal, these individuals should take more risk and realize that professional disagreements are acceptable and will not usually be taken personally. They can help their co-workers, and themselves, by clinging less to the status quo. Change can be positive, and it will help these individuals if they can be proactive about it and attempt to influence change rather than resist it. In addition, simply sharing their opinions more openly will help their co-workers.
