TRACOM Cares Donates to Three Charities

The TRACOM Group recently launched our newest initiative, TRACOM Cares, which provides non-profit and educational organizations with free and low-cost development resources including training materials, assessments, and facilitation professionals. With the launch of TRACOM Cares, we set up a program in which we randomly chose three participants of our new Resiliency Survey to receive a $400 donation to be granted to a nonprofit of their choice.

We are proud to profile the three organizations that received these awards:

The first TRACOM Cares contest winner is Tomorrow’s Rainbow, Inc. The Tomorrow’s Rainbow mission is “to provide grieving children, teens and their families an emotionally safe environment for hope and healing through guidance, education, and support. By incorporating miniature horse interactions with therapeutic play areas and facilitated peer support, children are given the tools necessary to take their own personal grief journey in a way that is meaningful to them.”

The second $400 recipient was given to Out of The Darkness Overnight Walks. The organization states that “a suicide attempt happens every minute of every day. Every 14 minutes, someone in the U.S. dies by suicide. These statistics are staggering and yet remain hidden and not discussed.” The walk is geared towards bringing awareness to the issues of suicide, depression, and mental disorders. The walk talks place overnight and is 16 to 18 mile trek throughout the evening. “The overnight walks are organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.”

The third recpient of the $400 dollar donation was to The British Columbia Guild of English Handbell Ringers. The objectives of this charitable organization are to:

  • bring together handbell choirs from all parts of British Columbia
  • to encourage the formation and support of new choirs on an inter-generational basis
  • to sponsor workshops for ringers and directors
  • to publish a regular newsletter, Quarternotes
  • to maintain a music lending library

The goal of the TRACOM Cares program is to have a positive impact on future generations entering the workplace by equipping them with the necessary Social Intelligence skills to be successful.
